Reimagining Jewish Education Through Discovery, Culture, and Play

At The J-Lab, we move far beyond the traditional classroom. Designed for the curious, active learners of today, our afterschool program transforms Jewish education into a vibrant, hands-on laboratory of culture, history, and Modern Hebrew.

We believe that connecting to heritage should never rely on sit-still memorization or passive lectures. Instead, we empower children to explore their Jewish identity through active building, low-friction instructional design, and genuine human connection. Here, your child stands tall, builds a proud link to their global community, and discovers a safe, supportive home where they can celebrate exactly who they are.
Ages 5–7 | K–2nd Grade
Building the Roots of Language and Wonder
At this stage, children are natural investigators. Our 5-to-7-year-old cohort focuses on sparking curiosity and laying the structural building blocks of Jewish identity through joyous, multi-sensory experiences.

Living Modern Hebrew: We introduce foundational language literacy through play, energetic movement, and interactive storytelling. Children absorb Hebrew naturally by doing and making, completely removing the frustration of rote memorization.

Tactile Discovery: From touching the agricultural textures of Israel to physically building kinetic models of ancient stories, learning happens with their hands.

Values in Action: We introduce timeless Jewish values (Middot) through guided collaborative play, helping young learners build empathy, confidence, and strong friendships.
Ages 8–11 | 3rd–5th Grade

Engineering Connection, Culture, and Critical Thinking
As children grow, they want to understand their place in the wider world. Our 8-to-11-year-old cohort shifts from foundational discovery to active creation, giving upper-elementary students true ownership over their cultural heritage.

Applied Hebrew Literacy: Language acquisition transforms into an immersive achievement. We utilize interactive learning stations, game-based challenges, and modern media to foster authentic conversational comprehension and reading confidence.

Israel & Global Culture: Students act as cultural architects. They explore modern Israel—its cutting-edge technology, diverse ecology, vibrant foods, and living history—through collaborative design projects and problem-solving challenges.

Identity & Belonging: We provide a sophisticated, intellectually supportive space where pre-teens can ask critical questions, express their ideas, and build a proud, resilient connection to the global Jewish community.

How We Teach
Learning by Doing
Children learn best by participating. Our classrooms extend beyond textbooks to include challah baking, holiday celebrations, art, cooking, debate, music, and hands-on exploration of Jewish life.

Designed for the End of the Day
After a full day of school, children need time to reset. School pickup, homework support, a healthy snack, and time with friends create the transition they need to arrive engaged, focused, and ready to learn.

Community First
Jewish education begins with belonging. We build lasting friendships, strong family connections, and a community where every child is known, supported, and valued.

Judaism in Practice
Judaism is not simply taught, it is lived. Our students learn Jewish values, traditions, and mitzvot by practicing them, developing both the knowledge and confidence to make Judaism part of everyday life.
