HIGH HOLIDAYS 2026
Welcome back to the TriBeCa Synagogue High Holiday experience.
The central ritual of Rosh HaShanah is the shofar. This year, however, because Rosh HaShanah falls on Shabbat, we don’t sound the shofar. Now the reason the sages provided seems trivial so we have to search for a deeper goal.
The shofar is a tool we have to help us express our regrets for past failings and our desire to be better human beings. So without the shofar we are on our own! The good news is that the sages had confidence in us that we have within us the spiritual potential to use our own voices to carry the day.
The high holidays in general are when we are to take stock of where we are spiritually so let’s all join together, find strength in numbers and soar into 5787!
