With the holiday of Shavuot behind us we have the biggest single portion of the year with Naso. We continue with the theme of counting which our sages explain demonstrates how precious we are to the Almighty who constantly had us counted both as individuals and as larger groups. This is also a lesson to us regarding our importance as both individuals and part of the community. This point was stressed last night at the membership meeting as we transition to a new administration which needs all of us to be as involved as we can in both capacities to shepherd ourselves past the challenges of the last couple of years.
Towards that end we congratulate Deborah K Gutierrez our new president, Alex Leybov our new executive vice president, Ken Paskar the new treasurer and Paul Schaeffer our new chairman of the board. We are deeply grateful to the dozens of members who attended the meeting and the dozens more who took the initiative to vote and be heard.
We are similarly deeply grateful to the outgoing administration of Eli Weiss, Neil Wallin, Robert Moezinia and Isaac Fuhrmann for their leadership, navigating the difficult shoals of covid and passing the baton to the next administration.
We now congratulate the many families celebrating current happy events:
Mazel Tov to Blaire and Brian Lichter for the birth of a boy this past Friday!
Mazel Tov to Michelle and Elan Goldwyn for the Bar Mitzvah of their son Jacob at the synagogue this Shabbat!
They are sponsoring kiddush on Shabbat.
Mazel Tov to Paul and Lorena Schaeffer for the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter Hannah this weekend at the synagogue!
