In Bo we find ourselves directly in the middle of the process of liberation that will culminate next week. The Ramban notes, at this point, how pervasive this event is in all of our rituals. He concludes that we must see the important messages that this conveys to us.

Specifically, it reveals to us how we are to understand that God does remain in control and is indeed interested in all that happens on this earth. Certainly that was lacking in Pharaoh and the Egyptians at the time but it was also what the Israelites needed to see in dramatic fashion for their future as a nation. And it is what we continue to need going forward, which is why awareness of the Exodus is constantly reinforced in almost everything we observe daily and year round.
