Joshua   7pm

At the end of Vayeira we have the binding of Isaac which is the story that seems to get all the focus but in the beginning we have the story of the 3 messengers which is just as important. While the former was Abraham's triumph of faith, the latter demonstrated his excellence in kindness.

Indeed, one of his paths to ethical monotheism was his observing God as provider to the infinite creatures of the world and what followed was his overwhelming desire to emulate that feature.  As such, we have the classic description of his tent of 4 open doors, which was designed to be able to entertain whomever as quickly as possible.

So, while faith is of course one of the Torah's pillars, Chesed (kindness) is another that is just as significant.

This Saturday we inaugurate our first Tot Shabbat! Please invite friends!
