"Remember the days of old, understand the years from generation to generation" is a keynote of our parsha Haazinu. The word for 'understand', Bina, is related to the word for 'between', Bain. Thus, there is a subtle hint that one must recognize there are differences between generations, and sometimes adjustments are necessary. And since "adjustments" are precarious in that when applied improperly they can overturn the whole system, with the proper judgment they are key to its preservation.

Examples abound, like the decision to write down the Oral Torah, etc. and certainly, with the breakneck pace of technological advancement, constant adjustments will continue to be in order. However, we pray for the Divine guidance necessary to design an observant lifestyle consistent with ancient principles but adapted to the 21st century.

Congratulations to all who made this high holiday season a tremendous experience for all who participated. Please heed the inspiring words of our President Eli Weiss and keep the momentum going with the rest of the holiday and beyond!

Once again we express our deepest appreciation to Nancy Aaronson for being on the front lines and shouldering the gargantuan task of maintaining our protocols keeping everyone safe. We are also deeply indebted to our treasurer Robert Moezinia for sponsoring our break fast, such a beautiful and warm way to conclude the holiday!
